Keira Knightley

She was raised in London to actor Will Knightley and Sharman Macdonald, Knightley obtained an agent aged six. Initially, she worked in commercials and television films. The role she played was a small one as Sabe in the science fiction film Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999). Following her international success for her role in the fantasy television series Pirates of the Caribbean in 2003 when she played Elizabeth Swann (a swashbuckling footballer) and was able to get her first role in the sports drama Bend It Like Beckham in which she played the tomboy. She appeared in the romantic comedy Love Actually (2003) and was described as a promising teenage actress. Knightley received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her performance as Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice (2005). As well as Atonement as a character, she acted as Georgiana Cavendish, the tastemaker on The Duchess and Anna Karenina's famous socialite. In modern dramas, she portrayed an uninitiated music student in Begin Again (2012) and the role of a doctor on the set of Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit (2013). Knightley returned to dramatic dramas from the past, as Joan Clarke, in The Imitation Game that earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
