
Nathalie Emmanuel (born in Southend-on-Sea in Essex, United Kingdom) is an English actor. Most famously, she is Missandei from the HBO television show, the fantasy Game of Thrones (2011). Nathalie was born in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England as the child of a man who is of Saint Lucian and English descent and her mother who is who is of Dominican of Dominican descent. Nathalie is able to attribute her determination to perform as an actress at the beginning to her mother. She played Young Nala at The West End Production of The Lion King when she was just 10 years old. She made her TV debut by playing in the role of Sasha Valentine in the teen soap-opera Hollyoaks (1995). Emmanuel appeared on the show up to 2010, when her stories featured prostitution as well as heroin addiction. Nathalie hosted BBC Three's Web-sex : What's The Risk to You?, which examined online sexual behavior of UK 16-24-year-olds. In the year following, she made her debut in film in the thriller Twenty8. She was then cast in the fantasy series Game of Thrones (2011, HBO) in the role of Missandei Targaryen who is Daenerys translator. As of 2015, Emmanuel became an actor on the show. In 2015, she starred as a computer hacker Ramsey and Harriet and Harriet Furious 7: The Scorch Trials (2015 action film) as well as Maze Runner - The Scorch Trials (2015 science-fiction film). FHM magazine named Emmanuel as a 99th place in their list of 100 Sexiest Women in 2013. In 2015, she made an appearance in the April issues of InStyle as well as GQ magazines.
