Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay champion. She currently competes with the UFC Flyweight division. Valentina Shevchenko, who is a former UFC Flyweight title holder as well as UFC fellow fighter is her older sister. Antonina Shevchenko's combat sport career started out as a Muay Thai fighter. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title after which she defeated Suzane Mller with a majority vote. Antonina received a gold medal in 2007, a silver medal in 2008, a silver in 2007 followed by a medal of bronze in 2008 and then a gold in the year 2011. Antonina was also named IFMA World Amateur Muaythai Champion 2016 by the IFMA. Antonia began her professional career 2003. She won the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championships 2012, the Lion Fight Lightweight World Championships 2016 and both the WMC World Championships and the Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's final bout took place in the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. The victory was a unanimous one. Antonina Shychenko's first professional MMA debut came in 2002, at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan where she was matched against Anara Bayanova. She won by TKO during the 2nd round, and was able to take home two subsequent bouts in the WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. She was awarded a 3-0 MMA record. Shevchenko went on a hiatus from MMA in order to concentrate on her kickboxing and returned to the ring against Anissa Haddaoui during Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko beat Anissa in an unanimous decision. She went on to defeat Valerie Domergue during Phoenix FC 4. After leaving the league in the year 2018, Shevchenko enrolled into Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko faced Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina's superior strike skills let her TKO Nievera via knees in the body. Following this victory, Antonina received a UFC contract. Antonina was offered the UFC contract after her win. Shevchenko was victorious in the unanimous victory, however she fell in the second round to Roxanne Modafferi in the split decision. Antonina recovered from this loss, defeating Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler via a rear-naked choke submission. The result earned her the fight-of-the-night bonus. Shevchenko was defeated by Katlyn as well as Andrea Lee in three of her subsequent fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski but she was also defeated by Ariane. Then, Antonina fell to Casey O'Neill at UFC Fight Night Santos vs. Walker via second-round TKO.
